Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) NHS Trust covers nearly 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, serving a population of over five million people. We employ more than 7,100 staff and 1,300 volunteers to provide a vital 24‑hour, seven‑days‑a‑week emergency and healthcare service.
A driving licence with C1 class is essential. You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a full C1 Category licence valid within the UK.
The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand. This can include Bank Holidays, weekends and nights, preparing our frontline operational vehicles and maintaining our provision on a 24‑hour basis. A significant percentage of AVP is completed overnight. Night and weekend working does attract unsocial payments, which could mean pay increasing to approximately £15K per annum depending on shift patterns.
