Job summary

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is hiring three experienced Vehicle Technicians for the Haydock site in Cheshire & Mersey Group Workshops. The role focuses on servicing, repairing and maintaining Trust vehicles across petrol, diesel, hybrid and EV, with specialist ambulance equipment expertise.

A recognised apprenticeship and NVQ/C&G Level 3 or equivalent are required, plus a full UK driving license. Shift pattern includes a salary uplift of ~12.5%.

Qualifications

• Must have recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle maintenance or equivalent
• NVQ/C&G Level 3 or demonstrable experience in vehicle repair
• Full UK driving license is essential for this post
• MOT Tester status is desirable
• Evidence of continued professional development (CPD) a plus

Responsibilities

• Service, repair and maintain Trust vehicles (Petrol/Diesel/Hybrid/EV) to DVSA standards
• Carry out skilled servicing of ambulance equipment
• Work in a modern workshop with ongoing training and CPD
• Operate diagnostic tools and diagnostic software to identify faults
• Work 365 days per year in rotating shifts with uplift
