Ambulance Care Assistant (Relief) - Watford - Hertfordshire

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Ambulance Care Assistants to transport our patients, who are frail or need specialist assistance, to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres and other similar facilities.

If you have experience of caring for people with proven customer care and communication skills with the public, then we would like to hear from you!

You will need to be flexible, adaptable, and at times, discreet. A good sense of humour and local knowledge of the area you are applying to work in will also be an advantage.

Applications for this vacancy will be required to work across Hertfordshire and based at Watford.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Ambulance Care Assistant involves the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences. This is a responsible role which requires a professional and caring attitude, as well as teamwork.

You will work in a team of two, or on your own, undertaking duties in a variety of vehicle types.

You need a full UK manual car driving licence, with one years driving experience. (Please note that a maximum of 3 penalty points will be considered for a minor motoring offence only.)

Your role with EEAST PTS would start with a 3 week paid training course (Monday - Friday). The training involves clinical training to be a 'First Person on Scene' and patient transport driver training.

It is your responsibility to attend in full, and successfully complete the course. The courses are held in Welwyn Garden City. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with Trust policy.

You MUST be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above.
