A regional healthcare provider in Dunstable seeks enthusiastic Ambulance Care Assistants responsible for transporting non-urgent patients. Ideal candidates will have customer care experience and a full UK driving license. The role offers training and promotes flexible working arrangements. Applications close on December 1, 2025.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Ambulance Care Assistants to transport our patients, who are frail or need specialist assistance, to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres and other similar facilities.
If you have experience of caring for people with proven customer care and communication skills with the public, then we would like to hear from you!
You will need to be flexible, adaptable, and at times, discreet. A good sense of humour and local knowledge of the area you are applying to work in will also be an advantage.

This role will be based out of our site in Dunstable. Please ensure this is a suitable location for you before submitting your application.
The role of the Ambulance Care Assistant involves the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences. This is a responsible role which requires a professional and caring attitude, as well as teamwork.
You will work in a team of two, or on your own, undertaking duties in a variety of vehicle types.
You need a full UK manual car driving licence, with one year of driving experience. (Please note that a maximum of 3 penalty points will be considered for a minor motoring offence only.)
Your role with EEAST PTS would start with a 3-week paid training course (Monday – Friday). The training involves clinical training to be a ‘First Person on Scene’, patient transport driver training, and a full uniform is provided.
You must be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above.
Learners are entitled to mileage to and from the allocated learning centre; claimable mileage is anything above the mileage to and from your allocated base station (e.g. Home to Dunstable station).
