Overview

As an Ambitions Coach, you’ll be part of a passionate and collaborative team that works together to deliver high-quality, person-centred support. You’ll work alongside colleagues, employers, and community partners to help adults with a learning disability and/or who are neurodiverse move towards and into paid employment. Together, we follow the 5-stage Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) to ensure every candidate’s journey is structured, strengths-based, and tailored to their individual aspirations.

Essential Qualifications
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults, including those with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, neurodiversity, or other barriers to employment.
  • Understanding of the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) or willingness to undertake training in the 5-stage model.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with candidates, families, and employers.
  • Ability to manage a caseload, plan and deliver regular coaching sessions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge of employability skills such as CV writing, interview techniques, and job searching strategies.
  • Experience or confidence in providing job coaching in real workplace settings to support candidates in becoming independent.
  • Team working skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across services and contribute to shared planning and outcomes.
  • Organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to promoting independence and wellbeing through employment.
  • IT literacy, including use of Microsoft Office and digital tools for communication and record-keeping.
  • Flexibility to travel across Doncaster to meet candidates and employers in community and workplace settings.
