Job summary

Asda in Preston is seeking an Ambient Manager to oversee the Ambient department, driving availability and high floor standards through strong execution while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will lead the shrink agenda with your team, taking ownership of actionable improvements and coaching staff to deliver results across in-store operations. This permanent role is full-time with dayshift patterns and a 45-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience as Team Leader or Supervisor in a retail environment.
• Operational knowledge of food or non-food departments.
• Ability to improve availability, reduce waste and manage shrink.
• Experience developing teams and leading change with resilience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Ambient department operations to ensure best availability and floor standards.

At Asda, we want you to find your everything as a Ambient Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of all areas of the Ambient department in store by delivering the best availability and highest shop floor standards through brilliant execution whilst ensuring the store is safe and legal for our customer and colleagues.

You will lead the shrink agenda through your Ambient team, driving standards and inputs as well as acting on opportunities with clear actions.

What qualities you’ll need:

• Drive strategy into action: Planning and executing all trading activity on the shopfloor, delivering great availability standards, key metrics and KRAs through routine and processes.
• Lead with impact: Engaging and coaching your team to constantly improve routine and process whilst creating a culture of serving with personality and get one more item in every basket.
• Results-focused: Ensuring shopfloor and promotional activity is landed to brief and on time to drive the store selling agenda by ensuring products are available in the aisle as well as on promotional end/shipper.
• Talent Development: Listen with empathy, driving resilience and encourage ownership, focus and passion for the business by bringing the “Asdaness” to work every day and supporting the development of the team and creating an environment where people feel valued, trusted, and motivated to step up.

What you’ll bring:
