Job summary

Hoop Education is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with ALN and challenging behaviour in secondary schools across Carmarthenshire. The role requires patience, resilience and confidence to provide consistent support to young people with emotional, behavioural and learning needs.

Roles offer 5 days a week, immediate starts and long-term opportunities. Weekly pay via PAYE, with CPD and training opportunities and dedicated consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with ALN and/or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• Patience, calmness and resilience in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Welsh-speaking skills are desirable.
• EWC registration or willingness to register for teaching support role.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, small-group and classroom support.
• Support pupils with ALN and challenging behaviour.
• Help pupils manage emotions and regulate behaviour.
• Encourage participation in lessons and build pupil confidence.
• Develop positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support teachers to maintain a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
