Job summary

A local authority in London is seeking an experienced Allocations & Verifications Team Manager to oversee the development and management of housing services. You will ensure optimal use of housing stock, manage staff and resources, and work with internal and external partners to drive service improvements. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering high quality housing services and knowledge of current best practices. This role offers a hybrid working model and potential for contract extension.

Qualifications

• Experience of delivering a high quality housing service in a related area for a large local authority or comparable organisation.
• Knowledge and awareness of current issues, best practice and developments affecting the delivery of housing services to residents.
• Experience of monitoring performance, producing reports and analysing data in order to drive service improvements.

• Develop, coordinate and manage the Allocation and Verification service ensuring optimum use of housing stock.
• Oversee medical assessment functions and manage exceptions cases.
• Manage staff, resources and budgets effectively.
• Implement and manage team plans and budgets ensuring efficiency.
• Support Service Managers by providing information and drafting responses.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
• Manage daily team operations to achieve intended outcomes.

Good Afternoon,
I am currently representing Lambeth Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for an Allocations & Verifications Team Manager this role will be: SW2 1RW Hybrid.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for the on the development, coordination and management of the Allocation and Verification service ensuring optimum use of housing stock within the borough pursuant to the Council's policies and statutory provisions under Part VI of 1996 Housing Act.
• To also be responsible for the medical assessment functions, expansion of new housing initiatives and the management and facilitation of exceptions cases.
• Manage allocated staff, resources and budgets using core processes and procedures consistently across the assigned operational activities in a manner which delivers value for money and is in compliance with all relevant policies and guidelines.
• Implement and manage team plans and budgets on a routine basis ensuring that all team activity is undertaken in an effective and efficient manner to deliver the political objectives and priorities of Lambeth and to effectively manage risks.
• Support Service Managers where necessary to provide detailed information and if required, draft responses to inform Members of progress, performance and relevant customer insights across Lambeth.
• Work in partnership with relevant internal and external partners as designated by the Service Manager for team objectives to deliver effective outcomes through collaborative, joined-up working.
• Manage the day-to-day team operational activity for the defined services supporting the achievement of intended outcomes by using timely and relevant information to monitor and evaluate performance.
