Job Purpose

One of my local government clients is looking for a dynamic and experienced Allocation and Verification Team Manager (PO5) to manage a key service ensuring fair and effective access to housing across the borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development, coordination, and management of the Allocation and Verification Service
  • Ensure optimal use of housing stock in line with Lambeth Council policies and Part VI of the 1996 Housing Act
  • Manage medical assessments, new housing initiatives, and exceptions cases
  • Lead a high-performing team within the housing department, ensuring compliance, quality, and performance targets are met
Requirements
  • Significant experience managing housing allocation or verification services within a local authority setting
  • Strong working knowledge of Part VI of the 1996 Housing Act
  • Experience handling medical assessments, exceptions, and special housing cases
  • Enhanced DBS is required (ESSENTIAL)
