Job summary

Allianz UK is seeking a Finance Summer Intern to join a dynamic, collaborative team at our Guildford head office. You will gain hands-on experience across Core Accounting, Financial Accounting, FP&A, and other accounting functions during a 9-week internship from mid-June to late August 2027.

You will work on daily accounting processes, assist with month-end tasks, and develop your analytical skills with mentorship and buddying programs designed to connect you with future business leaders.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year of study or taking a year out with a 2:1 or above in any degree (numerical disciplines preferred).
• Willingness to research Allianz and the insurance industry.
• Interest in finance and accounting functions across the business.

Responsibilities

• Assist across Core Accounting, Financial Accounting, FP&A and other accounting functions.

As a Finance Summer Intern, you will work within a dynamic and collaborative team across key areas: Core Accounting (Accounts Payable, Cashiers, or Management Accounts), Financial Accounting (within a Business Division), Financial Planning and Analysis, Business Partnering, and other Accounting functions (Internal Audit, Tax, or Group Accounts) at our head office in Guildford.

You will spend 9 weeks with us, tackling engaging challenges and gaining hands-on, valuable experience from day one. In addition to working with a stimulating range of corporate and trading accounts, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to real business problems.

During this Summer internship, you will collaborate with a dynamic and friendly team with exposure to three key areas: Core Accounting (Accounts Payable, Cashiers, or Management Accounts), Financial Accounting (within a Business Division), and other Accounting functions (Internal Audit, Tax, or Group Accounts) at our head office in Guildford.

You will spend your time working on exciting challenges and gaining hands-on, valuable experience from day one. From daily accounting processes to quarterly, monthly, and year-end responsibilities, you will learn the intricacies of financial management. Additionally, we will provide insights into how a large insurance company maintains its financial oversight.

You will participate in a range of interesting and evolving projects, developing your skills at every stage.

You will have direct access to our buddying and mentoring programs, which offer excellent opportunities to build connections throughout the business and deepen your understanding of our work. We will also connect you with other Allianz graduates, enabling you to share experiences with peers and establish a network with future business leaders.

To join our Finance internship scheme, a degree from any university in a highly numerate discipline is required. Successful applicants will enjoy analyzing data, interpreting results, and drawing conclusions.

The internship will last for 9 weeks, from mid-June to the end of August 2027.
