Job summary

Wintermute, a leading algorithmic trading firm in digital assets, is seeking an Algorithmic Trader with strong Python skills and a passion for quantitative trading. You will own P&L-impacting projects from early stages, collaborating with traders and developers across our global team.

After training, you’ll gain independence, analyze vast data, develop strategies, and deliver practical solutions in a fast-paced, meritocratic environment. Office-based with flexible elements in London.

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills with 1–3 years of professional work, internships, academic work or personal projects.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience; exceptional graduates with internships in HFT/quantitative trading are welcome.
• Trading experience is not required but strong trading intuition and interest in algorithmic trading is essential.

Responsibilities

• Improve and optimise existing trading strategies.
• Research and develop new trading strategies and products.
• Analyse large volumes of market and transaction data to identify opportunities.
• Build tools to improve trading performance and decision-making.
• Improve the technology and infrastructure supporting trading systems.
• Monitor trading performance and adapt to changing market conditions.
• Explore new markets, products and opportunities and take ownership of projects impacting P&L.
• Collaborate with traders, quantitative developers and the wider management team.
• Move between trading, coding, data analysis and collaboration as required.
