A leading health and social care provider in the UK seeks an Alcohol Recovery Worker to manage caseloads and develop recovery plans. Ideal candidates will possess an understanding of substance misuse and excel in communication. This role offers a salary starting at £25,116 with benefits including holiday pay and professional development opportunities. Join us and make a difference in people's lives.
As an Alcohol Recovery Worker you will manage a caseload, undertake assessments, develop person centred recovery plans individually and in small clusters and run evidence based substance misuse interventions in a group basis and individually. Your work will make a real difference; supporting individuals to make changes in their substance use and improving their overall quality of life.
You will work as part of a team made up of Recovery Workers, Managers, Doctors, Nurses and Peer Mentors. You will be assigned initially to one of our recovery teams in either the city or the county and throughout your time in role may get the opportunity to work from any of our teams or locations across the city and county, including in our specialist criminal justice team.
A driving licence and car access is desirable but flexibility in travel across the county is essential.
You’ll have an understanding of substance and alcohol misuse and the challenges and opportunities for individuals on a recovery journey. However, we also recognise that many people have transferrable skills from other backgrounds such as mental health, housing or other health and social care provision. The roles are varied, so flexibility, an ability to work dynamically on a one to one and group basis and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital but we can help to shape these skills where needed.
We also look for candidates with excellent communication skills and who share our values as an organisation. We value individuals with lived experience but also those who are just interested in this line of work; our Trainee Recovery Worker programme enables individuals without all relevant experience to gain an entry level position within the organisation before moving on to other roles.
As a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer. We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people. We never stop believing in change for the better, and we work constantly to improve the lives of the people we support.
