Job description

Our client is an exciting media business who seek to hire a Business Unit Accountant to look after their flagship business unit which has a turnover of c£65m. The role will suit an ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualified Accountant seeking autonomy and ownership of an exciting business unit whilst joining a bubbly and cohesive team that embrace suggestions and change. The role will take ownership of all the accounting, reporting and analysis for the business unit.

Responsibilities
  • Support the production and review of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and insight into business performance.
  • Analyse variances, prepare commentary, and present findings to the Financial Controller and leadership team.
  • Deliver quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, providing detailed analysis and recommendations.
  • Oversee statutory compliance and ensure all tax, VAT, and ONS reporting obligations are met to the highest standard.
  • Support the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for designated entities.
  • Provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop models and tools to enhance forecasting, scenario planning, and performance tracking.
  • Support process improvement and contribute to financial system enhancements.
  • Partner with departments to strengthen financial awareness and accountability.
  • Lead elements of the monthly and annual reporting cycles.
  • Mentor and guide other team members, sharing expertise and promoting best practice.
  • Play a key role in transformation and efficiency projects, leveraging technology to enhance reporting and automation.

A salary of £50,000-£55,000 plus benefits.
