Job summary

Gatwick Airport is hiring Security Officers on a permanent basis to patrol and safeguard facilities and perimeters. Flexible shifts (day, night or weekends) are available, with weekly pay and overtime options. A £3,000 bonus is offered after 3 months of service, and 45–60 hours per week are guaranteed.

Responsibilities include patrolling buildings, monitoring CCTV, controlling access, responding to incidents, and logging reports to maintain high security standards.

Qualifications

• Observational skills to notice threats or suspicious activity.
• Clear written and verbal communication for reporting.
• Ability to quickly assess situations and decide actions.
• Ability to de-escalate tense situations and resolve disturbances.
• Familiarity with security equipment and basic computer applications.
• Ability to patrol for extended periods and stay fit.
• Maintain calm, courteous presence on duty.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling and securing: regularly inspect buildings and access points.
• Monitoring surveillance systems to identify threats or unusual activity.
• Controlling access: check IDs, log entries, regulate restricted areas.
• Responding to incidents: investigate alarms and emergencies.
• Enforcing regulations and procedures, resolve disturbances.
• Reporting and documentation: maintain logs and incident reports.
