AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Airport Civil Engineer to join our Aviation team. You will contribute to planning, design and delivery of airport and airfield civil projects across the UK and internationally, including major hubs.

A pathway toward Chartership and structured professional development is offered, with hybrid work and office bases in London Nova, Epsom, or Manchester. You will collaborate with planners, engineers, environmental specialists and project managers to develop practical

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering is essential or equivalent.
• Progress towards professional Chartership with ICE or similar.
• Experience in airfield and infrastructure design is preferred.
• Understanding of UK/international pavement design methods is advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering design for airport and airfield projects.
• Coordinate and deliver design solutions meeting programme and client needs.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and design documentation.

We are seeking an Airport Civil Engineer to join our growing Aviation team and play a key role in shaping some of the UK's and world's most exciting airport infrastructure projects. You will contribute to the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across major UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, alongside a growing range of international commissions. With a strong pipeline of work spanning airfield infrastructure, terminal developments, landside transport schemes, airport expansion programmes and sustainability initiatives, you will join a nationally connected multidisciplinary team delivering projects that are critical to the future of aviation. You will:

• Deliver civil engineering design for airport and airfield infrastructure projects.
• Support the coordination and delivery of design solutions to meet programme, budget and client requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, drawings and design documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and internationally to deliver integrated aviation projects.
• Contribute to projects from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design and construction.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners.
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of quality assurance in design.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
• Progressing towards Chartership with a relevant professional institution (e.g. ICE).
• Airfield and infrastructure design experience, including successful delivery of schemes from concept to detailed design.
• Understanding of either Airport or Highways pavement design, materials specification and maintenance with an appreciation of principles and application of UK and international pavement design methods.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to contribute to project briefs, scopes of work and technical inputs.
• A passion for solving complex engineering challenges.
• A commitment to innovation, sustainability and technical excellence.
