Job Purpose
  • Lead and oversee the Airfreight Export operations within Pharma and Healthcare across UK / IE, ensuring quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver innovative and commercially viable solutions while meeting all GDP (Good Distribution Practice), regulatory, and customer-specific compliance requirements.
  • Act as Product Expert for Healthcare customers, supporting strategic projects, QBR meetings, compliance alignment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership : Full ownership of daily operations, ensuring service quality, compliance with Pharma and Healthcare regulations, timely invoicing, claims resolution, and efficient escalation handling.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure strict adherence to GDP, GxP, IATA, and other applicable regulations and standards. Maintain quality processes and documentation in line with Pharma and Healthcare industry requirements. Support internal and external audits, implementing corrective and preventive actions when required.
  • Financial Accountability & Budget Management : P&L responsibility for the Pharma and Healthcare department. Develop, manage, and monitor the departmental budget to ensure cost efficiency and profitability. Identify and implement cost‑control measures while maintaining compliance and service quality.
  • Customer Solutions : Develop and implement compliant, effective solutions that balanceservice quality with profitability, creating long‑term value for customers.
  • Sales & Business Development : Work closely with country and regional Sales teams to understand customer needs and support compliant business conversions. Conduct pipeline reviews and develop joint strategies to open new opportunities. Monitor customer performance, identify growth potential, and expand trading with existing accounts.
  • Team Leadership : Ensure sufficient resources and compliance knowledge within the team. Lead monthly team meetings, including compliance and financial performance updates. Support the professional development and engagement of team members.
Qualifications
  • Expertise : Extensive knowledge of the airfreight forwarding business, with proven experience in Pharma and Healthcare logistics. Minimum 10 years of experience.
  • Compliance Knowledge : Strong understanding of GDP, GxP, IATA regulations, and quality management systems within Pharma and Healthcare. Leadership : Strong track record in leading teams, building compliance culture, and inspiring performance.
  • Financial Skills : Experience in budget planning, monitoring, and managing P&L accountability.
  • Analytical Ability : Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with excellent command of Microsoft Excel.
  • Commercial Acumen : Proven ability to drive profitability while ensuring compliance and delivering customer‑centric solutions.
  • Interpersonal Skills : A strong communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
