Airframe Fitter

Morson is recruiting for Airframe Fitters to work with our prestigious client based at Cambridge Airport. The role involves carrying out maintenance, modifications and repairs to Lockheed Martin C130 Hercules aircraft structure & mechanical systems in accordance with work card instructions and relevant controlled technical documentation.

Job Details

Duration: 6 months rolling contract (long term 3 years).
Location: Cambridge, CB5 8RX.
Start: From January, however later starts available.
Hours & Shift Pattern: 5x5x4 pattern, 7am-6pm, approx. 40 hours a week + overtime.
Pay: £27.97 PAYE / £38.48 UMBRELLA.

Responsibilities

Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and activities to ensure progressive gains in efficiency are maintained.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a recognised Engineering apprenticeship or a relevant higher education qualification.
  • Experience of Engineering within a maintenance environment.
  • Ability to work individually as well as within a team across all functions on site, demonstrating a proactive and flexible attitude and supporting business targets and company goals.
  • Eye for continuous improvement.
  • Attention to detail and self‑motivation.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, coupled with good teamwork & communication skills.
  • GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
  • Good knowledge of H & S legislation and some knowledge of COSHH.
  • Structural repairs experience preferable.
  • Electrical qualification advantageous but not essential.
