Job summary

A leading aviation services company in Tees Valley is seeking experienced Aircraft Painters to prepare, mask, paint, and finish commercial aircraft like the Boeing 737. Candidates must have proven experience in aircraft painting and an understanding of painting techniques. Shift work may be required, including weekends. Competitive rate of £21/hr for 60 hours a week.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Aircraft Painter, ideally on commercial aircraft (e.g. B737, A320, B757).
  • Strong understanding of aircraft painting techniques, materials, and finishes.
  • Knowledge of paint systems such as AkzoNobel, PPG, or Mankiewicz.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out surface preparation including sanding, stripping, cleaning, and masking.
  • Apply primers, base coats, topcoats, and specialist finishes using approved materials and methods.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Job description

We are seeking experienced Aircraft Painters to join our clients team working on commercial aircraft such as the Boeing 737. The successful candidates will be responsible for the preparation, masking, painting, and finishing of aircraft and components to high industry standards, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality requirements.

Rate and hours

  • £21/hr Ltd
  • 60 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out surface preparation including sanding, stripping, cleaning, and masking.
  • Apply primers, base coats, topcoats, and specialist finishes using approved materials and methods.
  • Perform paint touch-ups and blending where required.
  • Read and interpret job cards, paint specifications, and drawings.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to a clean and safe standard.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Aircraft Painter, ideally on commercial aircraft (e.g. B737, A320, B757).
  • Strong understanding of aircraft painting techniques, materials, and finishes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow detailed instructions.
  • Knowledge of paint systems such as AkzoNobel, PPG, or Mankiewicz.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Must hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Candidates should be available for shift work, including weekends if required.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in an EASA Part-145 or MRO environment.
  • Aircraft painting or surface finishing qualification/certification.
  • Experience with both full resprays and livery changes.
