Job Title: Aircraft Mechanical Technician

Location: Lincolnshire, England

Compensation: £33,394.50 + Benefits (£4500 Shift Allowance)

The role

As an Aircraft Mechanical Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be working hands‑on with the Hawk TMk1 platform to ensure peak performance and safety for critical missions.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify faults on Hawk mechanical systems, holding first signature responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply approved data sets accurately, working confidently to maintenance instructions
  • Report to the Team Leader while promoting best practices in quality and safety management within an aviation environment.

This role is full time working 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire. Shift patterns will include:

  • Monday to Friday, with optional weekend overtime when required
  • Rotating shifts: Early: 07:30 – 15:30 Late: 15:30 – 00:00 (midnight)
Essential experience of the Aircraft Mechanical Technician
  • Proven experience performing scheduled maintenance tasks and supporting flight line operations
  • Strong understanding of MRP Part 145 and KR640, developed through hands‑on experience
  • Background in similar aviation maintenance roles, demonstrating technical competence
  • Practical experience in aircraft towing, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
Qualifications for the Aircraft Mechanical Technician
  • Extensive fast jet experience or equivalent background in an aircraft technical role
  • NVQ Level 3 (S&G 2675) or equivalent qualification in aeronautical engineering
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
