Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter to support the maintenance of the UK MFTS (RW) H135/H145 fleet at RAF Valley, Wales. Overview

Aircraft Mechanical Fitter vacancy in RAF Valley - Wales (134DM).

Salary: £20.23 per hour PAYE - £27.07 per hour Umbrella

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanical Fitter to assist with the movement, line, and base maintenance of the UK MFTS (RW) H135/H145 fleet. You\'ll play a vital role in ensuring aircraft remain safe, compliant, and mission-ready.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.
  • Perform maintenance inspections and repairs under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship for safe aircraft operations.
  • Carry out maintenance, including avionic and electrical systems, in compliance with OEM instructions.
  • Undertake off-aircraft technical work in workshops as required.
  • Assist with aircraft movements, hangar housekeeping, and daily operations.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of electrical and avionic systems.
  • Proficiency with specialised test equipment for these systems.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of flight and airport operations, aircraft line maintenance, and aircraft base maintenance.
Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with UK Military Aviation and MFTS.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 145 and Part M regulations.
Qualifications
Essential
  • Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in aircraft base maintenance.
  • Experience in flight operations and line maintenance.
Desirable
  • Hands-on experience with H135 helicopters.
  • Prior exposure to Airbus Helicopters products.
  • Background in military aviation environments.
Performance Targets

Maintain aircraft availability levels of >98% at RAF Shawbury (including deployments).
