A major airline maintenance provider in the UK seeks a technician for night shifts at Luton Airport. The role involves performing aircraft maintenance tasks, ensuring all safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with airworthiness legislation. Ideal candidates have a hangar maintenance background, a strong customer focus, and effective teamwork skills. The position offers a structured 28-day roster and potential travel to various locations.
Perform aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Certifying Licensed Engineer, ensuring all work requiring a Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) is completed per the MOE, EASA Requirements, and NAA regulations. Be fully conversant with allocating tasks, seek guidance for unfamiliar areas, and provide a thorough verbal handover of any partially completed tasks, ensuring documentation is completed as far as possible. Report any defects or safety risks to the Maintenance Supervisor or Base Manager, adhere to all safety precautions and procedures, comply with health and safety requirements, and ensure that all facilities, tools, and equipment are satisfactory for the tasks. Compliance with Station Standing Instructions and accepting other duties and responsibilities as reasonably requested are also essential.
This full-time role will be based in Luton, working permanent nights, 10.75-hour shifts. Shift pattern is a 28‑day roster pattern, with occasional travel requirements to easyJet's headquarters or network locations.
Candidates will demonstrate an up‑to‑date knowledge of applicable airworthiness legislation and ideally hold a time‑served apprenticeship with operational experience in a hangar base maintenance environment. A high degree of customer focus, both internal and external, is essential. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a team at all levels of the organisation and show a willingness to be flexible to meet deadlines and overcome operational problems. Demonstrating a working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and technical knowledge of aircraft, along with the hand skills required to carry out tasks, is crucial. Additionally, the ability to use aircraft maintenance documentation and computer‑based reporting and recording systems is required.
