Job description

As an Aircraft Inspector, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be supporting vital flying operations through aircraft ground movement, flight‑line preparation, and hands‑on maintenance of our LAFT fleet. Day‑to‑day, you'll have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and perform flight‑line operations in line with company procedures.
  • Complete all maintenance documentation accurately and in compliance with legislation and company standards.
  • Provide technical support to other LAFT sites and be available for longer‑term detachments during Easter and Summer camps.
  • Carry out pre‑use checks and scheduled maintenance on company‑owned Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

This role is full time working 40 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Benson, Oxfordshire.

Qualifications
  • Experience handling aircraft in military or civilian environments under CAA or EASA Part 145 regulations.
  • Mentoring and supporting new starters, fostering skill development and confidence.
  • Proficient in IT systems for accurate documentation and timely updates.
  • Proven supervisory experience within an aircraft engineering environment, recognised aircraft apprenticeship, military experience or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Ability to demonstrate both practical and theoretical standards required for the role.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Hands‑on aircraft engineering experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) Counter‑Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
