Job summary

Venn Group is seeking four experienced Role Equipment Specialists to support the Role Equipment Bay within a A400M line maintenance operation in Oxfordshire. You will service, inspect and maintain aircraft survival equipment to ensure safety, compliance and operational readiness in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

The role reports to the Role Bay Coordinator and Head of Workshops and requires BPSS clearance. 35-hour weeks, 6-month contract, £27 per hour via umbrella, starting ASAP.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret technical publications and follow procedures.
• Experience using maintenance recording systems.

Responsibilities

• Service chemical oxygen generators in accordance with OEM procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Inspect, repack and maintain life vests and associated survival equipment.
• Carry out daily servicing of role equipment to ensure readiness and availability.
• Apply corrosion prevention compounds to relevant components and assemblies.
• Record maintenance activities and update technical records and systems.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality and maintenance procedures.
• Follow human factors, FOD prevention and tool control requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold 6S standards.

Role Bay Contractor - Role Equipment Specialist

Location: Oxfordshire

Rate: £27 per hour via Umbrella Company
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Role

We are seeking four experienced and dependable Role Equipment Specialists to support the Role Equipment Bay within a A400M line maintenance operation.

Reporting to the Role Bay Coordinator and Head of Workshops, you will be responsible for servicing, inspecting and maintaining aircraft survival and role-specific equipment in accordance with approved technical publications, OEM procedures and applicable regulatory standards.

You will play a key role in ensuring critical equipment remains safe, compliant and operationally ready within a fast-paced, safety-critical aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Service chemical oxygen generators in accordance with approved OEM procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Inspect, repack and maintain life vests and associated aircraft survival equipment.
• Carry out daily servicing of Class 3 role equipment to ensure operational readiness and availability.
• Apply corrosion prevention compounds to relevant components and assemblies.
• Accurately record maintenance activities and update technical records and maintenance management systems.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, quality and maintenance procedures.
• Follow human factors, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention and tool control requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain workplace standards in line with 6S principles.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrable experience maintaining and servicing aircraft survival equipment, life-support systems and/or role-specific equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical publications and follow approved maintenance procedures.
• Competence in using digital tools and maintenance recording systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a demanding operational environment.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience in a defence aerospace, military aviation or MRO environment.
• Familiarity with the A400M or similar military transport aircraft.
• Awareness of human factors, FOD prevention and tool control practices.
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent military or civilian qualification in aircraft maintenance, survival equipment or a related discipline.

Security Requirements

• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Must be able to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, as required.
