Qualifications

Job description
Air Conditioning Engineer

Location: Newcastle, Felling
Hours: 08:00-17:00 (site may operate out of hours)
Call Out: 1 in 6 (£150 retainer)

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a large, multi-building site. You’ll work with a range of HVAC and ventilation systems (including some older kit), ensuring reliability, compliance, and high standards of client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance on AC and ventilation systems (AHUs, FCUs, splits).
  • Diagnose and repair faults, carry out filter changes, and complete system checks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation via CMMS/BMS and adhere to permit-to-work systems.
  • Supervise or assist contractors, ensuring safe and compliant work practices.
  • Support minor installation or upgrade works when required.
  • Maintain a strong client-facing presence, meeting strict SLA and KPI targets.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
  • F-Gas Category 1 certification
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
  • Good understanding of ventilation systems and PPM processes
  • Competent with paperwork and maintenance systems
  • Health & Safety awareness (IOSH preferred)
  • BMS experience and water hygiene knowledge desirable
