Job summary

CommonAI CIC, based near Cambridge, is seeking a Project Technical Lead to define the technical strategy for our Scaling Inference simulation platform and coordinate hardware, software, and model-workload workstreams.

You will lead core technical direction, set engineering standards, mentor research engineers, and ensure outputs align with the company’s mission while improving cost, performance and energy efficiency across the stack.

Qualifications

• Proven technical leadership in research or high-growth engineering
• Ability to translate complex concepts for diverse stakeholders and influence strategy
• PhD or higher in CS/Engineering with deep AI systems and hardware knowledge
• Track record delivering production-grade, scalable systems
• Experience with GPU optimisation and performance modeling of large-scale workloads

Responsibilities

• Own the architectural roadmap for the Scaling Inference simulation platform.
• Coordinate hardware, software and model-workload workstreams to deliver a cohesive toolkit.
• Set engineering standards, validation methodologies and performance targets.
