Job summary

Arqit Limited in Belfast seeks a software project manager to run a portfolio of software projects across our engineering teams, with a focus on Python, Rust and Java/Kotlin. Some projects are AI‑focused, so you’ll manage work where requirements and technologies evolve quickly.

You’ll translate customer needs into workable plans, manage risks and dependencies, and coordinate with product, security, sales and pre‑sales to deliver value on time.

Qualifications

• History of successful project or delivery management on software projects (non-technical focus).
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, run and report on multiple concurrent software projects from kickoff to delivery.
• Build and maintain project plans, timelines, dependencies, budgets and resourcing.
• Identify, log and manage risks, issues and dependencies, and elevate early.
• Scope work with engineering leads, estimate effort and decide priorities.
• Help engineering with metric gathering to track resource usage.
• Manage AI project pipeline from prototype to production with clear success criteria.
• Ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements including data classification and questionnaires.
• Keep stakeholders informed with clear status updates.
• Champion delivery discipline: definition of done, code review, testing, documentation and post-project reviews.
