A leading university in the UK seeks an AI Research Coordinator to connect research activities across divisions and support the development of an AI network. This role involves shaping the university's AI work and requires strong organisational and communication skills, along with a genuine interest in AI. The successful candidate will help to advance one of the world's most diverse AI research communities.
As AI Research Coordinator, you'll work with the newly appointed Chair of AI@Oxford, Prof Sir Nigel Shadbolt, to connect people, projects and ideas across all four academic divisions and GLAM (Gardens Libraries and Museums). You'll map the University's AI activity, build an Oxford-wide AI network, develop a coherent external presence, and create the structures that help researchers collaborate more effectively. You'll shape how Oxford presents its AI work to funders, policymakers and partners, and you'll play a key part in setting out a clearer strategic direction for a field that is moving fast.
You will need strong organisational and communication skills, and a genuine interest in AI and its implications. If you want to help one of the world's leading universities strengthen its approach to a rapidly evolving area of research, this role is for you.
Oxford hosts one of the world's most extensive and diverse AI research communities, spanning fundamental AI, ethics and governance, robotics, medicine, climate science and more. That breadth is a strength, but it also requires careful coordination, which this role will support.
