Job summary

Newcastle University invites applications for Senior Lecturer, Reader, or Professor in AI & Quantum. The role is based in the SAgE faculty, within the School of Computing or MSP, with a flexible start date.

You will conduct research at the AI–Quantum interface, publish internationally, attract funding, and contribute to AI2030 and Data Science 2030 projects. You will teach across UG/PG levels, contribute to curriculum development, and collaborate with external partners to extend the university's

Qualifications

• Must have a PhD in AI & Quantum or closely related discipline.
• Record of high-quality teaching and programme design.
• Strong international publication record and funding success.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership in AI & Quantum within the chosen school.
• Lead interdisciplinary AI & Quantum research initiatives and publish in top venues.
• Develop external funding opportunities and manage research projects.
• Supervise doctoral researchers and postdoctoral associates.
• Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Engage with industry and external stakeholders to enhance impact.
