We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML) to join us at SNC Mission Systems UK in St Athan. We providetailored mission systems integration and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions for the UK Government and its allies.

It is an exciting time to join SNC Missions UK as we are expanding, you will get stuck into contributing to the development of advanced software solutions for UK defence and aerospace programmes as part of the growing software engineering community in St Athan. Working closely with systems engineers on research initiatives, the role develops deployable, high-integrity software that leverages modern AI/ML technologies. You will support mission-critical projects including next-generation ISR platforms, autonomous systems and advanced decision-support tools.

Developing, delivering, and continuously improving AI/ML-enabled software solutions aligned with customer needs and mission objectives.
Working across the full software lifecycle within Agile teams, ensuring high-quality, secure, and reliable outputs.
Collaborating with systems engineers, data specialists, and mission-domain experts to design and integrate AI/ML capabilities.
Exploring emerging technologies such as agentic AI workflows, transformer architectures, and high-performance computing.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering innovative AI and Machine Learning capabilities within a software development environment. You will play a key role in leading technical delivery, helping to grow the function, and working collaboratively with Systems Engineers, as well as independently, across a range of AI, ML and wider technology projects.
Ideally, you will bring experience in OSINT alongside a broad software development background. Experience within the defence sector, or a similarly complex and highly regulated environment, would be advantageous.
