Job summary

Lynx Recruitment is seeking an AI/ML Research Consultant in the Cambridge area to join a research and technology consultancy focused on defence and security. The role covers early-stage research through to prototypes and deployment of working models.

You will explore emerging AI/ML techniques, train models, prototype solutions, design experiments, and present findings to clients, collaborating across teams to meet requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related discipline.
• Research experience or demonstrated research potential.
• Strong Python skills with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras or JAX.

AI/ML Research Consultant | Cambridge | Defence & Security

My client, a research and technology consultancy is looking for an AI/ML Research Consultant to join its growing team, working on challenging projects across AI, machine learning and emerging technology within the defence and security sector.

This is a highly varied R&D role, covering everything from early-stage research and proof-of-concepts through to developing and deploying working prototypes.

The role

• Researching emerging AI/ML techniques and generating new ideas
• Developing and training ML models for novel applications
• Rapid prototyping, experimentation and troubleshooting
• Designing experiments and analysing results
• Developing recommendations and presenting findings
• Working directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions

About you

• A strong degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related discipline
• Research experience or demonstrated research potential
• Strong Python skills and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras or JAX
• Experience across a range of ML techniques, or the ability to quickly learn new areas
• A rigorous, scientific and creative approach to problem solving
