Job Summary

As an AI Engineer you will be part of a small team responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of AI workflows, as well as managing the organization\'s AI infrastructure. The role will involve working closely with teams across the organisation to deliver robust, scalable, and effective AI solutions that support key business objectives. As an AI Engineer you are also expected to stay abreast of the rapidly evolving landscape of large language models (LLMs) and related AI technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and best practices throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • AI Workflow Implementation: Work with business and IT stakeholders to identify and scope use cases for application of AI across the firm. Deliver technical solutions to implement the identified AI use cases. Provide support and maintenance.
  • Infrastructure Evaluation: Analyse current AI infrastructure and deliver improvements in internal platforms, end user applications and tools.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration & Training: Provide training, guidance, and support to stakeholders in all departments to facilitate understanding and adoption of AI systems. Work closely with product, engineering, and business units to integrate AI solutions into business processes.
  • LLM & Industry Awareness: Stay current with advancements in large language models (LLMs) and emerging AI technologies. Evaluate and recommend adoption or integration of new models, frameworks, or tools as appropriate.
  • Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain clear documentation on workflows, infrastructure decisions, and operational procedures. Champion best practices in reproducibility, scalability, and security.
  • Performance & Cost Optimization: Assess and optimize AI workloads for performance and cost-effectiveness across different infrastructure options.
The Skills you will have
  • Excellent Python skills, with significant experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying complex and robust production systems
  • Solid experience using LLMs
  • Very strong business communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and concisely
  • Enthusiasm to rapidly learn new technologies and skills
  • An efficient and diligent approach with a strong attention to detail
  • The ability to solve new and unfamiliar problems quickly and creatively
  • An interest in trading and finance
Ideal experience will include
  • Deploying and managing key AI OSS projects such as LiteLLM, OpenWebUI, LibreChat, in a production environment
  • Integrating LLMs in production systems
  • Software engineering best practices for regression and integration testing
  • Knowledge of tokenization, RAG, one-shot prompting, prompt engineering
  • Containerisation and orchestration techniques (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of financial markets & securities, especially equities and options
