About the Role

We’re seeking a motivated AI Launchpad Associate (Junior Infrastructure Engineer) to join our AI Launchpad Scheme — a graduate‑style programme designed to develop future AI professionals.

In this placement, you’ll gain hands‑on experience within our Engineering team, supporting the design, build, and maintenance of secure and scalable Microsoft Azure environments that underpin our AI Copilot and SMART Assistant solutions.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and mentors to develop your technical skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Azure DevOps, automation, and environment configuration, while contributing to real‑world projects that support public sector digital transformation.

This is a unique opportunity to begin your career at the forefront of AI, learning from experienced mentors and contributing to projects that transform how local government and education services operate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior engineers with the deployment and maintenance of Azure environments
  • Learn and apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, PowerShell, and YAML
  • Support automation, testing, and monitoring across infrastructure components
  • Build and manage internal development and QA environments for testing AI solutions
  • Help resolve internal and client infrastructure‑related issues
  • Maintain documentation for deployments, configurations, and troubleshooting
  • Research and trial emerging Azure technologies and automation tools under guidance
Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong interest in cloud infrastructure, automation, and AI technologies
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure and basic cloud computing concepts
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
  • Curiosity and adaptability with a willingness to learn quickly
  • Clear communication and teamwork skills
  • Analytical and problem‑solving mindset
  • Relevant degree (e.g. Computer Science, Cloud Computing, IT Systems) or equivalent practical experience
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps, Terraform, or automation tools (desirable)
  • Microsoft Certifications AZ-104 – Azure Administrator Associate; AZ-305 – Azure Solutions Architect Expert (desirable)
