Job summary

Huxley Associates is seeking an AI Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of agentic AI strategy in a London/UK setting. You will steer scalable AI systems on Azure, drive modern AI patterns, and ensure secure, production-ready deployments across CI/CD pipelines.

You will mentor teams, foster an engineering culture of quality and accountability, and partner with safety/compliance to meet OWASP GenAI and NIST RMF standards.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years in senior engineering roles with leadership experience.
  • Hands-on Azure AI ecosystem experience, incl. Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, Cognitive Services.
  • Proven expertise building and scaling distributed, cloud-native systems (AKS, microservices, APIs).
  • Experience with LLM design: RAG, prompts, orchestration frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, REST APIs, and IaC.
  • Understanding of CosmosDB, SQL, Redis, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience designing multi-agent or autonomous AI systems.
  • Familiarity with real-time AI, voice, streaming, and event processing.
  • Knowledge of AI evaluation, testing, red-teaming, and governance models.
  • Security-conscious mindset with compliance awareness (OWASP GenAI, NIST RMF).

Responsibilities

  • Support design and delivery of our agentic AI strategy.
  • Lead scalable AI systems across Azure, including multi-agent orchestration and LLM apps.
  • Own end-to-end engineering lifecycle for AI services.
  • Drive adoption of RAG, agent orchestration, and event-driven workflows.
  • Ensure production readiness via observability, resilience, and cost optimisation.
  • Oversee multi-agent systems with Semantic Kernel and AI Foundry.
  • Implement deterministic orchestration, context management, memory strategies.
  • Foster innovation in AI workflows: voice AI, real-time inference, autonomous decisions.
  • Ensure explainability and auditability across agent interactions.
  • Embed secure-by-design across AI workloads; defend against prompt injection.
  • Partner with AI Safety and Compliance to enforce OWASP GenAI, NIST RMF, ISO standards.
  • Enforce model usage guardrails, data handling, and fairness checks.
  • Maintain full audit trails and traceability of AI decisions.
  • Lead engineering across Azure-native services: Azure OpenAI, AKS, API Management, CosmosDB, Service Bus.
  • Drive containerised deployments with Kubernetes and strong isolation.
  • Promote infrastructure-as-code with Bicep/Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Optimize performance, latency, and cost across AI workloads.
  • Build and scale high-performing AI engineering teams; mentor engineers.
  • Establish engineering culture focused on quality and accountability.

Job description

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements
  • 5+ years in senior engineering roles, with experience leading technical teams.
