IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking an AI Engineer to turn emergent AI capabilities into practical, production-ready solutions across public and private sectors. You will design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications while collaborating with data scientists, architects, and clients to deliver scalable, secure outcomes.

The role emphasizes responsible AI governance, agile delivery, and the integration of AI into existing enterprise platforms, with a focus on production-readiness and risk

Qualifications

• Commercial experience building AI solutions with LLMs and LLM APIs.
• Hands-on experience delivering production RAG and agent-based AI.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience building and integrating APIs and systems.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and retrieval strategies.
• Experience reducing hallucinations via grounding, retrieval, or evaluation.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI principles, governance, and secure AI adoption.
• Strong communication skills working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience delivering projects in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications and services using LLMs.
• Build RAG solutions and agent-based workflows for real-world use cases.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing enterprise systems and processes.
• Develop APIs and integration patterns for secure AI adoption.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to translate requirements into production solutions.
• Support testing, evaluation, and optimization of AI systems for performance and risk.
