Job summary

Hiire.co is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design and deploy agentic AI applications for a US exchange in a production environment. The role focuses on building scalable systems that can reason, retrieve information, call tools and orchestrate complex workflows in a security-critical setting.

You will own the architecture and implementation from concept through deployment, with emphasis on measurable performance, auditable processes and robust guardrails across trading and market data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years building AI, ML or LLM-powered applications.
• Strong production-level Python and C++ skills.
• Hands-on experience with agentic systems, RAG, tool calling and orchestration.
• Experience building AI evaluation and testing frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, microservices, cloud, CI/CD and observability.
• A practical understanding of AI security, privacy and responsible use.
• The ability to make sound technical decisions and deliver independently.

Job description

Most AI roles are building demos. This one is building production systems inside a mission-critical financial exchange.

A highly ambitious US exchange business is hiring an AI Engineer to design and deploy agentic AI applications across rates, derivatives, market operations, analytics and internal workflows.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of:

You will not be adding a chatbot to an existing product.

You will build systems that reason, retrieve information, use tools, orchestrate workflows, interact with internal platforms and operate reliably in an environment where security, accuracy and control are non-negotiable.

What you will own

You will design, build and scale:

• Tool-using agents
• Retrieval-augmented generation systems
• Planning, orchestration and memory
• Structured outputs and function calling
• Human-in-the-loop controls

• Guardrails, monitoring and fallback mechanisms

You will take ideas from concept through architecture, development, testing, deployment and production support.

Agentic AI in financial markets cannot simply look convincing.

It must be measurable, secure, auditable and dependable.

You will work directly on the failure modes that separate serious AI engineering from experimentation:

• Hallucinations
• Data leakage
• Reasoning failures

• Escalation and human oversight

You will also influence the wider AI architecture, reusable components, evaluation standards and deployment patterns used across the organisation.

What we need

You should bring:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years building AI, ML or LLM-powered applications
• Strong production-level Python and C++ skills
• Hands-on experience with agentic systems, RAG, tool calling and orchestration
• Experience building AI evaluation and testing frameworks
• Strong knowledge of APIs, microservices, cloud, CI/CD and observability
• A practical understanding of AI security, privacy and responsible use
• The ability to make sound technical decisions and deliver independently

Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI or similar technologies would be highly relevant.

Experience in trading, exchanges, rates, derivatives, clearing, market data or capital markets would be a major advantage.
