Job summary

Decisio UK is seeking a skilled data scientist/engineer to model and optimise water systems using the Decisio platform, turning regulatory and operational requirements into actionable scenarios. You will work with stakeholders to capture business needs, perform scenario analyses, and design solutions that balance ecology, resilience, and affordability, while advancing Net Zero goals.

The role requires a STEM degree, proficiency in analytics, Excel, SQL, Python and R, and a collaborative mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Engineering, Water Engineering, Water Sciences, Data Science, or a STEM equivalent.
• Proficiency in advanced analytics, forecasting, predictive modelling, and optimisation algorithms.
• Strong Excel skills, plus familiarity with MS SQL Server, Python, R, linear programming, and optimisation technologies.
• Track record of driving innovation in fast-paced environments.
• Exceptional communication translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive client satisfaction by translating business requirements into modeling solutions.
• Lead and attend workshops with stakeholders to define requirements for end-use cases.
• Inform strategic plans and delivery strategies using the Decisio platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise efficiency, energy production, and resilience.
• Familiarise with core Decisio technologies and platform.
• Gather, transform and validate data to design and test solution behaviour.
• Perform scenario analysis and network design optimisation for performance and resilience.
• Understand models and develop logic to meet client needs.
• Participate in development, testing, deployment and feedback to improve Decisio.
