Job summary

Salt in London is seeking a Security Researcher to explore AI-driven detection and threat research. You will develop tooling in Python and collaborate with product teams to translate research into security features.

The role focuses on AI-enabled threat detection, security workflows, and advancing the next generation of security products, blending academia-style research with practical engineering.

Qualifications

• Background in Security Research, Threat Research, Detection Engineering, Threat Hunting or Security Operations
• Strong Python skills and experience building tooling or automation
• Understanding of threat detection, attacker TTPs and modern security operations
• Interest in AI, LLMs, Generative AI or Agentic AI
• Strong analytical and research mindset

Responsibilities

• Research emerging threats, attacker techniques and security trends
• Investigate how AI can enhance detection and security outcomes
• Develop prototypes, tooling and automation using Python
• Explore Agentic AI workflows and security use cases
• Work with engineering teams to translate research into product capabilities
• Design, test and validate new detection approaches
