Job summary

James Engineering seeks a talented engineer to lead the development of JEMD, a platform combining Eurocode-compliant design, advanced numerical modelling, and AI/ML-driven optimisation for chimneys and inlet reinforcement systems.

You will work with University of Derby and James Engineering engineers, applying Finite Element Method (FEM) and data-driven techniques to build a simulation-led design capability for industrial chimney systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with Finite Element Method (FEM) and data-driven optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the JEMD software platform, integrating Eurocode-compliant design, FEM, and AI/ML-driven optimisation.
• Collaborate with academic partners from the University of Derby, James Engineering, and specialist software developers to apply FEM and data-driven optimisation.
• Establish a simulation-led design capability for industrial chimney systems.
