Job summary

Unity Advisory is seeking an experienced Data Architect to own data design across advisory engagements. This Senior Manager role combines finance‑focused business understanding with modern data architecture, platforms, and governance, guiding engineers and shaping client data strategy and architecture.

You will lead architecture decisions, manage data estates, and ensure coherence and quality across cloud data platforms, with a hands‑on edge to drive delivery and ensure auditable data lineage

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing and delivering data architectures for production systems.
• Deep expertise in data modelling, warehouse/lakehouse design, and data governance.
• Hands-on background in SQL and Python, with fluency in AWS or Azure and modern data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define target‑state data architectures for clients — models, storage, pipelines, and access patterns.
• Establish data modelling standards and curated domain layers with end‑to‑end lineage and provenance.
• Map and integrate finance source systems into governed, analytics‑ready models.
• Design the data foundations for applied AI/ML: retrieval sources for RAG, feature stores, and trustworthy data.
• Set security, compliance, and access controls for data platforms in line with ISO 27001.
• Provide architectural direction for cloud data platforms, IaC, CI/CD, and observability.
• Define data lineage and controls to support production AI with monitoring and human review.
• Translate business problems into architectural roadmaps and trade‑offs for engineers and sponsors.
• Mentor engineers and contribute reusable patterns and reference architectures.
