Job summary

HireWise is seeking a Head of AI & Automation Engineering in London (Hybrid) to lead and accelerate company-wide automation initiatives. You will shape the automation roadmap across Sales, Finance, Marketing, Customer Success, and HR, while personally building software and integrations where required.

As an AI-first organisation, you will drive pragmatic AI adoption, partner with senior leaders, and develop a small automation team through hands-on delivery, with ownership of measurable business

Qualifications

• Proven track record in software engineering and architecture.
• Ability to build software themselves and implement solutions.
• Experience leading small teams with hands-on delivery.
• Comfort working with C-suite and senior stakeholders.
• Fluency across business and technical domains.
• AI-first mindset and pragmatic application of AI.
• Ownership mindset and ability to operate with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own the automation strategy and roadmap across functions.
• Lead and mentor a small automation engineering team while coding.
• Build bespoke software and integrations when needed.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI, LLMs, and agents to business problems.
• Partner with C-suite to translate challenges into automation solutions.
• Deliver measurable productivity gains and business impact.
