Job summary

iO Associates is seeking a senior Data Governance Lead to set up and manage governance tooling (Microsoft Purview, Collibra) for a SME defence consultancy focused on data governance and AI compliance. Hybrid role with travel to London twice a week; active SC clearance is required to navigate sensitive data environments.

You will work with data owners and stewards to establish catalogs, glossaries, lineage, and dashboards; run risk assessments, audits, and governance meetings; and drive training

Qualifications

• Hands-on configuration of Purview and Collibra for catalogs, lineage, and glossaries.
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks and regulatory alignment.
• Proven ability to build executive-level reporting and metrics.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement bridging technical teams and business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage data governance tooling (Purview, Collibra).
• Engage with data owners and stewards for day-to-day governance.
• Run AI risk assessments and regulatory checks.
• Create executive dashboards and governance KPIs.
• Lead governance committees and maintain audit trails.
• Deliver internal training and drive process improvements.
