Job summary

Suffolk New College is seeking a Technician in Agriculture (on-site) to support staff and students across the practical agricultural spaces. The role involves preparing and maintaining equipment and materials, ensuring safe working practices, and contributing to health and safety activities.

The position is 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with a fixed term to 1 November 2027. Based at the Rural campus, you may be required to travel between campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• Health and safety awareness and willingness to undertake training (first aid, fire marshal)
• Organised and methodical approach to workspace management
• Strong communication with diverse audiences including young people
• Ability to prepare and maintain equipment and materials in practical spaces

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice, support and practical assistance to staff and students in the Agricultural spaces
• Prepare and maintain equipment and materials in practical workspaces and ensure safe working practices
• Contribute to College health and safety activities and attend required training
• Work at Suffolk New College Rural campus and be prepared to travel between campuses as needed
