Job summary

AFBI at Crossnacreevy Research Farm is seeking an Industrial Grade 2 Farm Staff member to support the establishment, maintenance and harvesting of crop trials. The role involves hands-on work in agricultural research and field operations.

You will operate tractors, mowers, harvesters, sprayers and fertiliser spreaders, ensure crop care and data collection, and follow health and safety procedures. Training will be provided to learn specific tasks and equipment.

Qualifications

• Evidence of handling farm machinery and applying sprays is required.
• GCSEs (A*-C) including English and Maths are expected.
• Experience in agricultural or research farm environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with establishment and management of agricultural trials.
• Operate tractors, mowers, harvesters, sprayers and spreaders.
• Carry out cultivation, ploughing, spraying, fertiliser application, harvesting and mowing.
