Job summary

The University of Sheffield is inviting applications for a Research Manager to join the Healthy Lifespan Institute (HELSI) and support UKAgeNet’s network of over 70 UK research organisations focused on ageing and age-related diseases.

You will coordinate the network, organise events, draft policy-relevant documents, and raise UKAgeNet’s profile while collaborating across large interdisciplinary teams and reporting on progress and milestones.

Qualifications

• Experience writing high-quality scientific or policy-related documents.
• Experience working across large interdisciplinary teams and partnerships.
• Background in scientific, medical, public health or social science research.
• Experience in policy development or engagement would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate UKAgeNet activities and organise high-profile events with diverse stakeholders.
• Draft opinion papers that summarize discussions and build consensus across the network.
• Write blogs and social media content to communicate the network's expertise to diverse audiences.
• Oversee project administration and finances, monitor milestones and ensure timely reporting.
• Engage with stakeholders and attend events as needed to raise UKAgeNet's profile.
