Job summary

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for an Agile Research Delivery Team Clinical Research Practitioner. Responsibilities

• Travel throughout the Humber and North Yorkshire region delivering NIHR Portfolio research in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
• Deliver NIHR Portfolio adopted research across Wider Care Settings and the community.
• Work across Secondary Care, Primary Care and Wider Care settings in a mobile delivery model.

Agile Research - Clinical Research Practitioner

Are you ready for a new challenge? Do you want to work in a variety of settings across different organisations? The Agile Research Delivery Team (ARDT) is looking for a Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP) to join a dynamic mobile team. This advert is for a post available in the Humber and North Yorkshire Region.

The ARDT works across Secondary Care, Primary Care and Wider Care settings, delivering a variety of Commercial and Non-Commercial research studies and trials. The Clinical Research Practitioner post would ideally suit someone who has experience of delivering research in a dynamic environment and/or experience of community based practice.

Main duties of the job

These posts will be employed through Leeds Teaching Hospitals with the operational base being either Wizu Workspace York or Humber Teaching Hospital NHS Trust depending on the location of the successful candidate

The ARDT CRP will be required to travel throughout the Humber and North Yorkshire region delivering all aspects of clinical and non-clinical research.

The following areas of expertise are advantageous however not essential, Commercial Research Delivery, Mental Health, Community based practice, Supporting those living with Dementia and Prisons.

The NIHR RRDNs have three key roles.

First, to provide support to research sites to enable the effective and efficient initiation

and delivery of funded research across the health and care system in England.

Second, to enable the strategic development of new and more effective research

delivery capability and capacity. This includes bringing research to under-served regions

and communities with major health and care needs.

Third, to work jointly with the Coordinating Centre in the strategic oversight of the NIHR

RDN. This ensures that the Portfolio is maintained as a cohort of high-quality, fully-funded, viable and deliverable studies. It also ensures that the NIHR RDN as a whole serves the needs of researchers and R&D teams and is responsive to the changing domestic and global environment for health and care, life sciences and health research.

The Agile Research Delivery Team form part of the Regional Research Delivery Network for Yorkshire and Humber. We support the delivery of research across multiple locations and settings, broadly speaking in Secondary Care and Wider Care Settings.

What you will bring to the role

This post is a community based role, covering the Humber and North Yorkshire area, therefore travel is a requirement of the role. The ARDT work both in and out of the hospital setting. Delivering NIHR Portfolio adopted research in Wider Care Settings and the community requires the post holder to have a flexible approach, excellent planning and time management skills.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of delivering both commercial and non-commercial research and have knowledge of the legislative frameworks governing safe and effective research delivery.

Applicants should possess the necessary clinical skills required to deliver all aspects of clinical research such as phlebotomy, EGC recording and sample processing.
