A leading construction materials provider in Scotland is seeking an Aggregates and Asphalt Technician to support site operations at various locations including the Cairneyhill Asphalt Plant. The role involves sampling and testing of construction materials, ensuring quality, and adhering to health and safety standards. We are currently looking for an Aggregates and Asphalt Technician to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Cairneyhill Asphalt Plant, Caldercruix, Airdrie (near Glasgow). The role of Aggregates and Asphalt Technician is working on site as part of a team that supports operations at our Cairneyhill Plant as well as other Tarmac sites across central belt and South West Scotland (Jericho Bridge, Hillwood, Snabe, Douglasmuir, Craighouse, Ravelrig and Dalbeattie). As well as Glasgow this role is accessible from Falkirk, Grangemouth, Broxburn, Carluke, Bellshill, Hamilton, Kirkintilloch, Rutherglen, Bishopbriggs, Paisley, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas and involves some travel to Dumfries and Dalbeattie.

To be successful in the role of Aggregates and Asphalt Technician we are ideally looking for a candidate with laboratory experience gained within the construction sector, who possesses knowledge of aggregate and asphalt testing and production. We do however welcome applications from candidates without experience as full training will be provided.
The role of Aggregates and Asphalt Technician is not a typical ‘lab coat’ laboratory type of role – it is a vital hands‑on site‑based role, working in a small team closely supporting several of our quarries and other operational asphalt plants.
Suitable candidates for this role will:
ESSENTIAL - Full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 points as you will use a company vehicle for this role.
