Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in the United Kingdom runs a two-year graduate development programme in Materials & Processes. You will build leadership capabilities from day one while growing your technical expertise in corrosion protection, sealants, paints, lubricants, coatings and related processes.

Through rotations, you will contribute to cross-divisional projects across Research & Development, Design, Production and In-Service support, and interact with suppliers worldwide to deliver

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering.
• Recently graduated or first professional experience in chemistry, materials science or engineering.
• Strong English communication (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy materials, processes, and test technologies for surface protection (corrosion protection principles, sealants, paints, lubricants, greases, surface treatments, coatings).
• Provide reactive support for improvement projects (performance improvement / cost and time reduction).
• Ensure EHS regulations (REACh) compliance through eco-efficient materials and processes.
• Work cross-divisions across the Aircraft lifecycle from R&D to Design, Production, In-Service Support, and End-of-life.
• Engage with suppliers worldwide.

What You Will Be Doing

• Developing and deploying Materials, Processes, and Test Technologies for Surface Protection (Corrosion Protection principles, Sealants, Paints, Lubricants, Greases, Surface treatments, and Coatings)
• Providing reactive support for improvement projects (performance improvement / cost and time reduction)
• Ensuring EHS (Environment Health and Safety) regulations (REACh) thanks to eco-efficient materials and processes
• Working cross-divisions on the entire Aircraft lifecycle, from Research & Development to Design, Production, In-Service Support, and End-of-life
• Engaging with the suppliers worldwide.

You Will Also Develop The Following

• Project Management through placements in Chief Engineers or other departments
• Business and Financial knowledge
• Leadership Skills through working on projects with a broad range of people, as well as specific training.

Your development journey will include a minimum of one rotational placement to support your growth into position. At the end of the two-year development programme, you will have developed into the position of AGGP2027 Graduate Material & Processes Specialist!

What We Are Looking For

• A degree level or equivalent within Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering
• Recently graduated or first professional experience in the field of Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering
• Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
• A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation
• The ability to be self-aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.
