MRJ Recruitment Limited is seeking a Data Scientist to help build an AI-powered discovery platform in Manchester. This contract role focuses on agentic search, personalised recommendations and intelligent ranking, with production-ready delivery.

You will design and evaluate ML models across search, personalisation and recommendations using Python, SQL and Snowflake, aiming to surface relevant products and improve user experiences. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with agentic AI, intelligent search, recommendations, personalisation and augmentation.
• Experience taking models from experimentation to production and measurable business impact.
• Strong Python and SQL data tooling for large datasets.

Responsabilités

• Design, build and evaluate ML models for search, personalisation and recommendations.
• Explore agentic AI concepts to enhance discovery experiences.
• Develop features with Python/SQL/Snowflake and assess model relevance and user impact.
• Ensure model explainability with SHAP or similar techniques to tell a clear story to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data, Product and Engineering to shape platform direction.
