Job summary

Roku is seeking a hands-on Agentic AI Engineer in Cambridge to design, build, and maintain intelligent agents and copilots for Roku TV. You’ll own end-to-end agent development from prototyping to deployment, with a focus on production-grade reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or backend development with production-grade systems.
• Strong Python, plus experience with C/C++ or another systems language.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based systems, prompt design, retrieval, and agent orchestration.
• Experience building and maintaining RAG pipelines, MCP servers or equivalent, and conversational interfaces.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, REST APIs, containers, and modern deployment environments.
• Experience with observability, evaluation, experimentation, and feedback loops for AI systems in production.
• Ability to work independently, move quickly, and deliver incrementally in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deploy AI agents and copilots for Roku TV with internal systems integration.
• Own end-to-end agentic systems from concept to production, including design and deployment.
• Design single-agent and multi-agent orchestration patterns with handoffs and cooperation.
• Build scalable RAG and context pipelines for reliable grounding.
• Implement tool-calling and MCP-style integrations for safe actions.
• Create reusable agent templates and modular components across teams.
• Establish evaluation, observability, and monitoring for quality and cost.
• Build safeguards, testing pipelines, and controlled rollouts for reliability.
• Prototype quickly, run experiments, and translate ideas into durable software.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, and infrastructure to deliver outcomes.
