The role requires extensive knowledge across mechanical, electrical and onboard marine systems, alongside a strong understanding of modern boat construction and composite manufacturing. As the technical face of the business, you will regularly travel throughout the UK and internationally to support customers, dealers and vessels in service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and systems-related faults.
  • Carry out commissioning, sea trials and vessel handovers.
  • Attend customer sites, marinas, shipyards and superyachts to undertake repairs and technical investigations.
  • Manage warranty claims from initial diagnosis through to completion, ensuring excellent customer communication throughout.
  • Produce detailed technical reports following inspections and warranty investigations.

  • Assist with technical documentation, service bulletins and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards.
About You

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience building, commissioning, servicing or maintaining high-performance leisure craft, RIBs, luxury tenders or similar vessels.
  • Strong knowledge of marine mechanical, electrical and onboard vessel systems.
  • Proven experience diagnosing and resolving technical faults.
  • Broad understanding of modern boat construction methods, including composite manufacturing and marine outfitting.
  • Experience managing warranty cases and technical investigations.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK and internationally.
Desirable Experience

  • Experience with inboard and outboard propulsion systems.
  • Knowledge of CANbus, NMEA 2000 and modern vessel electronics.
  • Experience working with premium yacht builders or superyacht tenders.
  • Electrical or hydraulic system qualifications.

Personal Attributes
  • Calm and methodical problem solver.
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Strong communication and customer relationship management abilities.
  • Professional, adaptable and able to work confidently in customer-facing environments.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to travel at short notice when required.
What's on Offer
  • Opportunity to work for one of the UK's leading premium boat builders.
  • Exposure to bespoke, high-performance craft and prestigious superyacht clients.
  • Varied role combining workshop, sea trials, customer visits and international travel.
